Dubai 2012: Making something out of nothing

(This is the 14th post in a series detailing my work trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.)

It’s hard to believe we pulled it off. But with this team, almost anything is possible.

We managed to get to what seemed like Plan S of our training. I say Plan S because nothing went as planned, so we had that many other things we did instead of our original plan.

We managed to use a substitute kitchen an hour away in a different emirate for our cook off days because the restaurant still doesn’t have gas.

That said, the training team will be leaving tomorrow without a functional restaurant. The thing is, though, it isn’t our fault. We did everything we could without having gas to cook, and honesty I think training went well.

I just hate the fact they have to open the restaurant without us here.

Tomorrow we have to set up the restaurant so they can open when they get gas, and then we will be taking a big photo with all the trainees, trainers and the management staff. Really short day; we’ll probably only be here for an hour. Then, back to the States we go.

But, I’ll save that for another post.

Until next time …
